Funeral services were held Friday, May 24, 1974, from the First Christian Church, Holyoke, for Nellie Miles, 90, who passed away Tuesday, May 21, at Melissa Memorial Hospital.
Rev. Gerald Parriott officiated at the services. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park.
Nellie Miles was born November 18, 1883 at College City, Iowa. During her childhood the family moved to Creighton, Nebraska.
In 1907 she was united in marriage to Fred Miles at Center, Nebraska. They moved to Holyoke in 1909 and lived southeast of Holyoke until they retired in 1947.
Mrs. Miles, a resident of Phillips county for 67 years, had made her home at the Sheridan Manor for the past eight years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred in 1966, and a daughter Rita [Reta] Hughes in 1962.
She is survived by a daughter, Mae Forbes, Denver; two sons, L.B. "Bud" Miles, Holyoke, and Melvern Miles, Haxtun; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephew and friends.
