This marker would be for Jesse P. Morris, born Jul 1849 in Benton County, Tennessee. He died on 9 February 1903 in Leavenworth, Leavenworth Co., Kansas. I have a copy of his Veteran's Adminstration papers that confirms he was a Private in Company I, of the 152nd Illinois Infantry, matching the details on the headstone in this memorial... his wife .... Sarah E. (Haner) Morris, who may have been using the name Melinda Morris and who died before 1900 and more probably before 1895 in the Robinson, KS area. Darlene Steffens
