Joyce Eva Coryell Law, 83, of Meridian, passed away peacefully, Wednes day, February 23, 2011 in her home surrounded by family.

Joyce was born November 20, 1927 in Ogilvie, Minnesota. She was the ei ghth of nine children born to George E. Coryell and Matilda Johnson Co ryell. Even though times were difficult for this family whose father w as a traveling minister, there were many good times of love and fun. A bout 1935 the family left South Dakota and traveled to Meridian wher e the family settled. The "original 9" would often reminisce about thi s memorable trip, which involved 33 flat tires on their Model T Ford.

Joyce enjoyed attending school in Meridian and remembers the two-roo m schoolhouse, which had four grades in each room. Joyce especially li ked playing volleyball and basketball in gym class. In high school, sh e met and fell in love with her husband, Evan Law.

Shortly after graduating from high school, Joyce worked for the Burea u of Vital Statistics and then joined the Bureau of Reclamation wher e she worked until retirement after 30 years of service.

Evan and Joyce were married November 19, 1948 in the home of Evan's pa rents. Later, on March 3, 1950, they were sealed for time and all eter nity in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. Evan, her beloved husband, passe d away in 1989. During their forty years together, they made wonderfu l memories with loved ones, often camping, fishing, and waterskiing. T hey also enjoyed serving and caring for many friends, neighbors, and r elatives. They created their best memories with their four children, s upporting them in their activities at school and in church.

Throughout her life, Joyce took opportunities to serve in her church , working in Primary, Relief Society, Sunday School, Scouting, and fam ily history. A treasured time was when she was able to serve as an ord inance worker in the Boise Idaho Temple for over 9 years. She will b e remembered for her example of joyful endurance as she continued he r life of service and love after her sweetheart passed away.

Joyce wrote that her most prized possessions were her family and her t estimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Her children and grandchildre n have cherished memories of time spent with her: playing games, doin g puzzles, vacationing, picnicking, cooking, and doing good to others . She made each person feel special. Her children will always treasur e the blessing of being able to care for her the last few weeks of he r life on earth. As her time for passing drew nearer, she looked forwa rd to rejoining her husband and eternal companion.

Joyce is survived by four children and their spouses, Connie and Gar y Buckley of Boise, Sandie and Jeff Hobson of Eagle, Bryan and Irene L aw of Kuna, and Shelli and Cleto Ponce of California. She also leave s behind her sister, Elaine Wilson; 23 grandchildren; and 25 great-gra ndchildren, all of whom love her dearly.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Evan Law; her sisters, Dor yce Caulk, Dot Klett, Ruth DeWaard, and Hazel Ruska; her brothers, Ear l Coryell, Mel Coryell and Wes Coryell; and her granddaughter, Jessic a Ponce.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 28, 2011 a t the LDS chapel located at 1985 N Black Cat Road, Meridian. Friends m ay visit with the family on Sunday, February 27th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p .m. at the Relyea Funeral Chapel or from 9:00 to 9:40 a.m. at the chur ch prior to services. Interment will follow at the Cloverdale Cemetery .

Services are under the direction of Relyea Funeral Chapel.
