Hazel M. Engelhart Risbrudt, 82, of Fergus Falls, died at her home on Wednesday, March 7, 2001.

She was born on May 29, 1918, at Towner, N.D., the daughter of Albert and Anna (Jorgenson) Hermanson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated as valedictorian in 1936 from Towner High School. After high school, Hazel attended Minot State College, where she attained her teaching certificate in 1940. On Oct. 3, 1941, she married Adam Engelhart in St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Towner, N.D. Four sons were born to this union. She taught school for several years in North Dakota. In 1966, she and Adam moved to Fergus Falls, where she worked as a librarian and a secretary until her retirement. In 1980, Adam died, and in November of 1984, Hazel married Ralph Risbrudt at Our Saviors \endash Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church in Dalton. The couple resided in Dalton. She returned to Fergus Falls in 1997, after Ralph's death. She was an active member of her church. She lived her life as a loving witness for Christ and His kingdom. Her greatest joy was her family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husbands, Adam Engelhart and Ralph Risbrudt; son, Terry James Engelhart; sister, Lillian Thomas; brother, Lloyd Hermanson; and her parents, Albert and Anna Hermanson.

She is survived by her three sons, David Englehart of Grand Forks, Tim (Sally) Engelhart of Fergus Falls and Leon (Betty) Engelhart of Erhard; three grandchildren, Todd (Dana) Englehart of Renton, Wash., Travis (Danette) Engelhart of Fergus Falls, and Taylor Engelhart of Fergus Falls; five great-grandchildren, Dillon, Turner, Ashton, Megan, and Treyton; two step-children, Wayne (Brenda) Risbrudt of Ashby and Barbara (Dean) Ness of Dalton; and her sisters, Margaret Nelson of Towner, N.D., and Lois (Arnold) Rholl of Minneapolis. Also surviving are numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation: There will be no visitation

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Olson Funeral Home Chapel
