MERIDIAN- Services for Peter De Waard, 84, of Meridian, Ida., who died Sat., Jan. 18, 1975, at a Boise hospital, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Meridian Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Howard Hopkins.
Interment will be at the Meridian Cemetery under the direction of Robison Chapel of the Chimes, Meridian.
He was born on Oct. 11, 1890, in Rotterdam, Holland. He came to the U.S. at the age of 13. He homesteaded in Lusk, Wyoming, before moving to Corsica, S.D. where he married Jessie Plooster Oct. 9, 1917. They farmed in So. Dakoata until 1934, when they moved to Meridian. He farmed in the Meridian area until retiring in 1957 and since had lived in Meridian.
He was a member of the Meridian Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are his wife of Meridian; a daughter, Elizabeth Coryell and a son, Joe C. De Waard, both of Meridian; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, a sister and a brother.
