Funeral Held Friday for Elmer L. Miles, 75

Elmer Miles, 75, died suddenly Tuesday, Nov. 23 about two hours after entering the local hospital for a checkup. He had not been feeling well, went to a doctor, who entered him in the hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at Mission Covenant Church in Wausa with the Rev. Paul O. Sundberg, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery at Creighton. Pallbearers were Don Banks, Dale Nielson, Paul Repenning, Wallace Bertschinger, Laurence Moeller and Earl Kamrath.

Elmer Lauz Miles, son of John A. and Louisa Miles, was born July 2, 1890 at Winnetoon. He was graduated from a Sioux City, Ia. high school, then returned to Knox County. He had lived on a farm nine miles northeast of Creighton from 1912 until his death.

Mr. Miles married Ruth Nelson on Sept. 13, 1904 at Center. Three children were born to them, all of whom survive, Miss Elsie Miles of Spencer, Ia. Lindell E. Miles of Welcome, Minn. and Mrs. Ellswsorth (Verna Mae) Peterson of Lincoln.

Other survivors besides his wife are one grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Hannah) Pagelar of Conoga Park, Calif. and Mrs. John (Anna) Polish of Watford City, N.D. and two brothers, Frank Miles of Rhinelander, Wis. and Fred Miles of Hobroke, Colo.
