Death claimed Charles Albert Wilson, 68, shortly before noon today in his home at 111 Clark Lane following a six-week illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dudley Mortuary with the Rev. Roy O. Youtz officiating. Interment will be in Santa Maria cemetery.
Wilson was born Nov. 4, 1880, in Saunders county Nebr., and came to California in 1916, locating in Los Angeles. He was a member of the Los Angles police force for a number of years, and later was a member of the Griffith Park police force.
He lived in Santa Maria for 16 years and had been a member of this city's police department. For the past six years he had been a guard at Hancock College.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs, Mary E. Wilson, three daughters, Mrs. Dewey Tunnell, Mrs. Pearl Howerton, and Mrs. John T Bishop; one son Clarence Wilson , all of Santa Maria; a sister, Miss Cora Wilson also of Santa Maria and a brother Jonas, in Nebraska. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren."
