Reno Eugene Dahl, 88, a resident of Maine Township, died on Thursday, February 15, 2001, at the Lake Region Skilled Nursing Facility in Fergus Falls.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1912, in Underwood, the son of Henry and Laura (Olson) Dahl. He was baptized and confirmed at Sverdrup Lutheran Church in Underwood. He grew up and attended school in Underwood.
On March 7, 1933, Reno married Jennie Nelson in Fergus Falls. The couple lived on the Nelson family farm in Maine Township. They later purchased the family farm after the death of Jennies father, William, and farmed until retirement in 1976.
He was a member of Maine Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed farming, trapping, fishing, and hunting.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Connie; two brothers, Donald and Forrest; a daughter, Gloria Stigen; a grandson, Derek Dahl; and a great-granddaughter, Summer Howitz.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie of Maine Township; his children, Reno Blaine (Liz) Dahl of Mound, Mike (Kay) Dahl of Hawley, Kathy Stofer of Fergus Falls, Connie (Gary) Anderson of Boise, Idaho, Kurt (Sheila) Dahl of Maine; son-in-law, Wally Stigen of Wahpeton, N.D.; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Johnson of Fergus Falls; and two aunts. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Olson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Maine Presbyterian Church, Maine
