OVERBOE, Orville I., 83, of Midlothian, went to be with his Lord afte r passing away peacefully at his home February 10, 2011. He is survive d by his five children, Kathy (Kerry) McQuiddy of Powhatan, Beth (Mike ) Morrow of Chesapeake, Julie (Randy) Gibson of Glen Allen, Troy (Jenn ) Overboe of California and Trent (Stephanie) Overboe of Powhatan; tw o sisters, Alice Marquardt of Maryland, Carmen Lowell Thompson of Illi nois; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and a special frien d, Brenda Cordle. He was preceded in death by his two beloved wives, L uVonne Bergren Overboe and Jacquelyn Running Overboe. He was also prec eded in death by an infant daughter, Stacy. Mr. Overboe graduated wit h an MS degree in Agricultural Economics from North Dakota State Unive rsity. He headed up the Feed Grain and Soybean Analysis Section with t he Department of Agriculture. He was active with NARFE, and was a Worl d War II veteran, past Commander of the Midlothian Legion Post 186 an d a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. Pop Overboe was a belov ed father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and was an active and respe cted member of his community. The family will receive friends Sunday ( today) from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 And erson Hwy. (Rt. 60), Powhatan. Funeral services will be held Monday , 1 p.m. in Christ the King Lutheran Church, 9800 West Huguenot Road , Richmond, Va. 23235. Entombment Greenwood Memorial Park [note: shoul d be Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Goochland Co., VA].
