After several "n o's" , a few "maybes" and finally a "yes" she consented to marry him. Tekla worked selling real estate, volunteering weekly as a nurse at th e local veteran's hospital. In 1919 she and child Elsie went back to Sweden on John's promise to h is parents to return with his family. Tekla was not happy in Sweden o r living with her in-laws after six months. TEKLA JOHNSON Mrs. Tekla Johnson, 75, of Puyallup, died Sunday in a local nursing ho me. She was born in Gottland, Sweden, and had lived in in Seattle and Taco ma areas for the past 60 years. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Lutheran Church and Klippan Lodge, Va sa Order of America, in Seattle. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Carsten L. (Irene) Haarsager, o f Puyallup, Mrs. Lloyd (Virginia) Johnson, of Bellevue, Mrs. Walter F . (Elsie) Imes, of Bremerton, and Mrs. Ira. (Edna) Mullins, of Carlsba d, Calif.; two brothers, John and Oliver Anderson, both of Boston, Mas s.; and 14 grandchildren. Services will be announced by Mountain View Funeral Home. 3.
