Oscar William, Henry J., James M., Edgar P., Franklin L., and two daughters, Susan F. and Ellen L. born to Philo and Mary Chambers Ordway. Oscar grew up in a family of farmers. As a young man he farmed for a few years then became a logger/lumberman. Oscar was prominent in lumber operations in the vicinity up to twenty years ago, when he moved to Quebec. He did extensive lumbering in the vicinity of Stony Creek and Indian Lake. For some time he was an employee of the Finch, Pruyn and company in charge of lumbering in the Adirondacks. That profession he followed till moving to Canada entering their at Gretna, Manitoba Province abt 1909 with several members of his family, where he became a grain farmer in Saskatchewan Province. He and his sons did have their problems with bad seed which caused them to become involved in a lawsuit with the seller of the seeds. The Ordways lost the lawsuit. 04 Jul 1872 Day Saratoga Co NY Oscar married Mary T. Rhodes daughter of Norman and Lucinda Loss Rhodes, of Saratoga Co NY. From this union 5 sons and a daughter were born. Henry Jones, Homer Clifford, Leon Frank, Helen Sally, Harry Rhodes, and Stanley Gardiner. Henry Jones and wife entered Canada with Oscar and family and later he returned to New York and spent his life there with his family. Helen married in the states, she and husband, Fredrick C. Young moved to IA. The rest of Oscar and Mary's sons married in Canada and lived out their lives there. Also, leaving many descendants still there today.
