Grace Marilyn Welti

Our cute mama, aka Grandma Gracie, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 9, 2010. She resided at 2247 East Suada Drive (4070 South) in Holladay, Utah at the time of her death.

Grace was born on Thanksgiving Day, the 26th of November 1931. She was the youngest of nine children born to Albert and Lorraine Welti.

Married William (Bill) Francis Haner on September 10, 1949. Bill passed away at the age of thirty-eight on October 8, 1964. Grace later married Earl Chapman.

Most important to Grace were her family and friends whom she loved dearly, many spent time with her regularly right up to the end. Although her mother passed away when she was only seven years old, she had the support and love of her adoring father, brother, and six sisters, theirs is a rare and exceptional bond that will last for eternity.

Grace had successful careers working for Bryner Clinic and Travelers Insurance and held countless LDS Church callings, but her major accomplishment was being "The Best Mother" that she or anyone could possibly be for her four children. Grace personified the qualities of Endurance, Perseverance, Integrity, Wisdom and Love. She inspires us to be better. She will be dearly missed.

Survived by her children, Debora Kay Haner, Glen William (Machelle) Haner, Leesa Anne (Michael) Haner Sausa, Todd Welti (Julie) Chapman; many grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sisters, Connie Schnakenburg, Thelma Barlow, Ruth Hills, Lois Geertsen, and Lorraine Nakken, along with many darling nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother, Carl Welti, and sister, Helen Rock.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. in the Gunderson Lane Chapel, 4101 South Gunderson Lane (1950 East). Friends may call in the Gunderson Lane Chapel on Monday, July 12, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on the day of the services from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
