Walter Johnson, 81, a former resident of Hayward and a retired farmer at Adams, died Saturday in St. Olaf Hospital, Austin.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Adams Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Hayward Cemetery. The Rev. Wayne Quibell will officiate. Friends may call at Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson was born Jan. 27, 1890, in Story County, Iowa. He married Carrie Monson in 1913 at Forest City, Iowa. She had preceded him in death in 1968.
Immediate survivors are a son, Woodrow Johnson, Rochelle, Ill.; four daughters, Mrs. Albert (Gladys) Wanous, Owatonna, Mrs. Harvey (Alice) Sathre, Adams, Mrs. Norman (Kathleen) LeVasseur, Oakland, and Mrs. Richard (Arvilla) Noterman, Chetek, Wis.; a brother, Koren Johnson, Hayward; 27 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
