Floyd Hoff, 8O, of rural Underwood died Monday, Sept. 27, 1993, at Pioneer Nursing Home in Fergus Falls.
He was born Dec. 29, 1912, in Milwaukee, Wis, the son of Paul and Clara Slaick. His mother died when he was an infant and his father went off to war. He was adopted by Oscar and Anna (Volen) Hoff at the age of twelve.
While attending Tri-State College in Indiana, he applied for and was selected manager of Park Region Mutual Telephone Co. He held this position for 42 years with a leave in 1940 to serve In the U.S. Army.
On July 3. 1941 he married Gertie Volen. She died April 12 1984. On May 25. 1985 He married Verna olson.
He was very active in all local charitable organizations especially economic development and housing projects. He served with the County Housing Authority, Historical Society and the Salvation Army. The telephone industry used his talents in the Association of Minnesota Telephone Utilities and also the Minnesota Telephone Association for many years.
Memorials preferred to the Our Saviors Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church Elevator Fund.
Survivors include his wife, Verna of Underwood, one sister, Mae Seymour; one daughter, Carol (Joel) Moline of St Peter; two sons. Paul (Janyne) and Craig, both of Dalton; five grandchildren: and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funerai home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 2 p.m. Sunday at Our Savior's-Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church, Dalton
