Ole Pedersen (Ragnhild's father) was born on 23 December 1829 at the Fuglem Gård. He was the son of Per Olsen (1797-1882) also born on the Fuglem Gård and Marit Kristoffersdatter (1832-1866). Ole was baptized on 25 January 1830 at the Selbu Church and was confirmed there on 22 Jun 1845. Ole became a tailor and he married Gunhild Eriksdatter on 10 July 1854. In 1858, the newlyweds would move to a new home that was called Tailor's Hill. The bygdebok incorrectly tells that Per Olsen (Ole's father) was the tailor. The birthdate shown and other information given tells us that it should have said the Ole Pedersen was that tailor. Then as mentioned earlier, in 1880 this family packed up and left for America.

Pages 205 & 206 contain historical information of Skreddar Haugen (Tailor's Hill) under the Grøtte farm. This is where Ragnhild Olsdatter was born. The information starts off talking about Ola Persen (born on the Fuglem Gard) being the original owner of Tailor's Hill, who started it in 1858 and then left it in 1880 when the family emigrated to Minnesota in America. I am sure that Ola Persen is the individual we know as Ole Pedersen and later in America, he was Ole P. Grøtte. Page 206 contains the family of Ole Pedersen and Gunhild Eriksdatter. You will find their daughter, Ragnhild, listed as #5. It says that Ragnhild was born in 1861 and married in 1883 Nils Ostby from Odalen. Their marriage took place in Dane Prairie Township near Fergus Falls, MN. and they would homestead in North Dakota and had 13 children.
