Edwin Ostby was born at Hankinson on Feb. 21st, 1899, the son of Nils Ostby and Ragnahild Fuglem. He grew to manhood in Greendale Township and attended the AC at Fargo. He also took a barber course in Minneapolis. Mr. Ostby went west in about 1930 and spent the intervening years in that locality. He also spent several seasons in Alaska. Mr. Ostby passed away Aug. 26th, at Ellensburg, WA.
The deceased was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Sigurd and Carl; four sisters, Gladys, Mabel, Nellie and Olena. Surviving are three brothers: Ole of Douglas, ND. , Raymond of Staples, MN. ; and Peter of Castroville, CA. ; three sisters; Mrs. William Koehler and Mrs. Harry King, both of Hankinson and Mrs. Gilbert Schock of Amery, WI .
Funeral services were held last Friday at the Wipperman Funeral^ Home with Rev. Byron of the Fairmount Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Tyson Community Cemetery
south of Hankinson.
