Services Were Held Today
Services were held today at St. Luke's Lutheran church, Elcho, for Marie Tveten of Elcho who died Dec. 23. She was 87 years old. The Rev. Joseph Schultz officiated and burial was in the Elcho cemetery. The Soman-Strasser funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson, she was born June 17, 1890 in Preston, S. Dak. At the age of 10 years, she and her family made their home in North Dakota. On Nov. 5, 1914 she and Ole Tveten were married and the couple moved to Elcho. Mr. Tveten preceded his wife in death in 1966.
Mrs. Tveten was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran church, Elcho, the Ladies' Aid and the Altar Guild.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Ruth) Mikolajak, Elcho; Mrs. John (Frances) Howe, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Robert (Elaine) Reynolds, route 2, Deerbrook; five sons, Douglas, Antigo; Walter, Clintonville; Gordon, Milwaukee; Charles, Sister Bay, and Dean, Sommerset, Wis.; and a brother, Hans Johnson, Brenton, Wash.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters
